CNU28: CHRISTIAN CAUCUS MEMBER LED SESSIONCall For Proposals
Several years ago a new category of session was launched at the annual congress entitled Member Led Sessions. During the lunch break when rooms are not used, member groups like the Christian Caucus are given the opportunity to use the rooms to organize a session. At CNU24 people met during a Member Led Session to discuss and establish the Christian Caucus. Since then the Christian Caucus has hosted a Member Led session every year.

Because these sessions have grown in popularity the board has decided to bring more structure to the selection process so all Caucus members are aware of the opportunity and are invited to apply to present at the Christian Caucus Member Led Session.

Proposals are due by midnight (PST) on Monday, February 3, 2020.

CNU-MCC's Local Church & New Urbanism Event:
Loving Your Neighbor(hood)
Friday, June 12, 2020

Last year during the CNU Annual Congress, CNU-MCC coordinated an event for local pastors and church leaders in Lousiville to gather with Christian urbanists for an afternoon to discuss the important role of the built environment in promoting human flourishing in our neighborhoods. We will be hosting a similar event in the Twin Cities in conjunction with CNU28. We would love to have you there!
Make note on your calendar and keep your eye out for more details forthcoming about how you can be involved.

WHAT WE'RE LISTENING TO
Eric Jacobsen and Sara Joy Proppe, active CNU-MCC Members, released Season 1 of The Embedded Church Podcast this past fall. The podcast is centered on sharing stories of churches in walkable neighborhoods.

If you haven't had a chance to listen, you can subscribe on all major podcast platforms or listen via the website: The Embedded Church
An initiative of the Surge Network, based out of Phoenix, Arizona, this podcast features various interviews with creative folks working to connect their faith and work.

We think CNU-MCC members will find a recent episode with Jack DeBartolo, an architect, particularly thought-provoking: Architecture, Imagination, and the Placemaking God
A GOOD READ
Jay Hoekstra, CNU-MCC board member, recently wrote this thoughtful piece about Thomas Merton and urban design.
